  • Who

  • What we collect

    Through the contact form: your name, e-mail address and message, plus your organisation, country and subject if you fill them in. You receive a confirmation of your message by e-mail.

  • Why

    Only to answer your message. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take and our legitimate interest in answering questions about ESE (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

  • Spam protection

    The contact form uses an invisible check against automated messages (Cloudflare Turnstile). It only loads when you start filling in the form; Cloudflare then processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details.

  • Where it is stored

    In ESE's own database, on a server we rent from Contabo GmbH in Germany (EU).

  • Service providers

    Cloudflare delivers the website and its images and, like any web server, processes your IP address to do so. Resend sends the e-mails about your message, from its EU region (Ireland).

  • Backups

    Every day a copy of the database goes to Cloudflare R2 and Backblaze B2, both in the EU. These copies are deleted after 30 days.

  • Outside the EU

    Cloudflare and Resend are US companies. Where data does reach the US, it is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses, as set out in their data processing terms.

  • How long

    We keep your message for at most 12 months. After that it also disappears from the backups within 30 days.

  • Admin accounts

    Only the people who manage this site have an account, by invitation: e-mail address, name, a password stored only as a hash and, optionally, Google sign-in. We need this to manage the site securely (legitimate interest). After logging in, the session is kept in your browser (localStorage).

  • No trackers, no cookies

    This website uses no trackers, no analytics and no cookies. Public pages store nothing in your browser.

  • Your rights

    You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, to restrict their use or to receive a copy, and you can object to their use. Write to info@ese-scissors.eu.

  • Complaints

    You can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
